Things I'm looking forward to:
(In no particular order...)

*The next episode of the The Sopranos
*Star Trek: Nemesis
*The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
*The Matrix Sequels(Long live the flying kung-fu Jesus!)
*Harry Potter & The Chamber of Secrets
*Kevin Smith's (Dogma, Chasing Amy) new movie: Jersey Girl
*Star Wars: Episode III
Three dumpsters plus later, it's official; KJ and I own a lot of stuff. It didn't seem that much it the Saint Cloud house, of course that was a much bigger place, nevertheless finding space for all of our things may require a new set of physics rules. About the only thing that I have no complaints about at this point are the books, I love the books. All of this despite the fact that the actual physical reality of moving the books took thirty-seven (thirty-seven??!!) banana crates, and more than a few of the odd shaped boxes that were lying around. I think it's safe to say that a nomadic life isn't in the cards for I, or Ms. Karla. I still can't believe we threw away three dumpsters worth of junk, (probably more like three and a half all told) including two (!) sofas, a television, a kiln, and an air-conditioner. Yeah, that's right, a kiln. How did get there? I'm not really sure, but it lived in Karla's garage for eight years, and it's dead now.

Today is a good day, a Saturday and I'm not spending half my day on the road between here and Saint Cloud. Take a twenty-four hour day, subtract seven on average for sleep, (24-7=17) now take off another five hours round-trip driving time, (17-5=12) and then take away a further four and call it Murphy's Law time, (12-4=8) and oddly enough you're left with an eight-hour working day. For some reason, it doesn’t feel like that much time. Anyway, I don't have to do any driving today, so I'm working around the house and playing. Games and dinner and possibly a movie later, I like Saturdays. Even if the town I live in does occasionally smell like burning poop.

Went to Saint Cloud today, it's odd I've been back and forth so many times I feel like I can do it in my sleep. Getting stuff straightend out w/the old house, painting, cleaning, checking things out etc. I have this odd feeling that at any moment somebody is going to pop out from a corner and ask what's going on. It still dosen't seem real I guess, add to that the fact that I've been back in Saint Cloud every weekend for the past few, and it still feels like I live there. Getting my roots down here is going along at pace, I guess that my job at Schwan's is going to involve B to B or 'business to business' sales calling. I must confess that this does not fill me with anticipation, I've done phone solictation before, didn't really feel like it went that well. Oh, well. I couldn't really turn them down, seeing as they had me placed in a day and a half. Hopefully there will be some room for movement laterally once I've established myself.

Todays random link: Ethan Daniel Davidson! Wonderful folk music, very much in the tradition of Woody Guthrie, and Utah Phillips. Check him out! Good wholesome American discontent...
Okay it's not quite tomorow yet...18 minutes by the clock in my computer but I'm not going to quibble. I have some house keeping details to take care of, so without further ado;

Some Basic Groundrules-

*All statements contained in this Blogg are solely the opinion of me. Unless specifically stated, no other entitys have okayed any of these statements. In case of accidental exposure to material that you find offensive and/or stupid please be prepared to cut me some slack. I will do my level best to keep these proceedings at a PG to PG-13 level, but one person's comedy is often annother person's heresy. Consider yourself warned.

*While there are links to send letters to me, except in extra-ordinary circumstances no corispondance will become part of the site. Translation: I'm not running a forum here, if you want a voice start yer own dern Blogg. I mean, this is the internet for pity's sake, anyone with a modest ammount of free time on their hands can carve out their niche and make themselves heard.

Now that those little details are out of the way-on to the news....

Justin Gets a Job

In my first post I mentioned that I was looking for a job. I'm not looking anymore, I've found a job. Thanks to the good folks at Staffing Specialists I will be starting at Schwans on Monday. I will be in the same boat as 60-65% of the population being employed by them. It should be pretty okay though, they have a reputation of flexablity with college schedules.

Random Linkage

Along the same lines as the Onion link below here are a couple other sites that you might find amusing...If you like your humor, like you like your ointment (topical) check out Fanatical Appathy the home of humorist Adam Felberg. Also, you might check out NPR's Wait Wait, Dont't tell Me a weekly newsquiz with a humors bent that the afore mentioned Mr. Felberg sometimes guests on. If you're just searching for general funny Modern Humorist might be more in your line.

I give up...I've tried twice to post this evening. Both times the computer ate what I was working on before I could get it posted. Go check out the Onion. Laugh, I'll be back tomorow. Razza-frackin frimpin machine...
...And then in a moment of genius it occured to me, the best way to keep folks up on what's going on in my corner (now more literally than ever before) of the world is to publish a WebLog or as the kids call it, a Blogg. That is how I came to be here, and more to the point, how YOU came to be here. Hopefully I'll be able to keep this one up. I've tried Journals before, I have three or four with a handful of pages each. I will endevor to do better here.

Right now I'm deep in the midst of a Job hunt, send positive thoughts & Prayers my way if you would be so kind. I need work, well I need money anyway so hopefully something comes up soon. If you'd like to shoot me a letter, please feel free to do so at jlhelmer@charter.net.

That's all for now...
